Winter Halo Glow - Clinique Dallas Plastic SurgerySummer months are busy with pool parties, outdoor activities and sunny beach days. Losing track of daily sunscreen and Vitamin C serums takes a toll on your skin, leaving you with sun damage, uneven skin tone, hyper pigmentation, enlarged pores and wrinkles.

laser resurfacing treatment like Halo is just what you need to get your skin back on track and get your skin glowing again.

Why is this season the perfect time to get the Winter Halo Glow?

Most people think that laser treatments may be done year round – which is true, but it is recommended that you avoid sun exposure at all cost for a few days after a laser treatment to achieve the best results. For that reason, winter is ideal for laser treatments, especially treatments with downtime. The reason being, the suns UV rays are not as damaging to the skin as they would be during the spring and summer months and it is easier for you to stay indoors when it is freezing out and avoid the sun for two weeks before and after treatment as recommended to achieve the best results!

“Early sun exposure may lead to a longer recovery period and may increase risk for hyper-pigmentation to treated areas.”

Laser treatments in general target the surface damage such as; uneven texture, fine lines, and pore size as well as going deep beneath the surface of the skin to target underlying pigmentation. Treating tanned skin can potentially make your hyper-pigmentation worse and increase your risk for permanent skin discoloration and possible blistering.  Avoiding the sun and any self-tanning lotions or sprays allows for an even treatment to be administered.

Our one-of-a-kind hybrid fractional laser called “Halo” (by Sciton) uses two wavelengths to create a controlled targeted zone to stimulate collagen in the dermis while simultaneously creating micro channels into the epidermis resulting in a smoother texture and tone.

How does Halo work?

The Halo laser treatment is a quick, comfortable treatment that will yield amazing results. Topical anesthetic is applied 1 hour prior to your treatment followed by a quick 30-60 minute laser treatment, depending on what areas are being treated. The most popular areas we treat are the face, neck, chest, and hands but the Halo can treat almost any part of the body.

The Halo is a unique laser that offers minimal downtime which sets it apart from other resurfacing lasers. After the first 24 hours your skin will begin to peel, but you will be able to put on makeup. By day three or four you will begin to see your new refreshed skin, but it will continue to improve for months after your laser treatment.

The Halo laser treatment is not only a customizable treatment but it’s also suitable for almost all skin types. During the winter months, the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays are less intense making this the perfect time for a Halo resurfacing treatment because this is typically when most people’s skin tone is the lightest, making the treatment more effective- so don’t miss out on your chance to get that WINTER HALO GLOW.
