It’s normal for women’s breasts to go through many changes over time. These changes can be gradual caused by normal aging or with weight loss or gain. Other changes may seem to appear more suddenly sometimes as a result of a life event, such as pregnancy or breastfeeding. Some of these natural changes result in loss of breast volume, especially in the top of the breasts (the upper poles). The skin can also lose its elasticity, causing the breasts to lose their shape and begin to sag. While some women embrace these changes, for some women, these changes can be discouraging, especially if it affects how they fit into their clothing, and more importantly how they feel about themselves. If you are someone who has experienced these changes and are unhappy with the appearance of your breasts — you are not alone and we are here to help!
Breast Lift
A breast lift or mastopexy is a surgical procedure that lifts and restores the shape of your breasts by elevating your nipple position along with removing excess loose skin. This procedure can also reduce the size of your aureola, the skin surrounding the nipple, and can also reduce the size of your breasts if desired. A breast lift has the potential for minimizing asymmetry to your breasts. For example, if one of your breast or nipple falls lower than the other, certain techniques can be performed to minimize these asymmetries.
Breast Lift with Implants
If you are someone who desires more volume to the upper poles of your breasts or would like fuller, rounder breasts, then a breast augmentation combined with a breast lift may be recommended to you. Depending on your anatomy and/or tissue quality, it may be advised that these procedures be performed in 2 stages in order to achieve more desirable, predictable results.
